Can I Claim Period Underwear with NDIS?

Yes! If you’re an NDIS participant, you may be able to claim Mira Comfort’s period underwear under your Consumables budget (Category 03).

The NDIS provides funding for disability-related health and hygiene products, including menstrual products, when they are essential for maintaining independence, dignity, and daily functioning.

If your disability makes it difficult to use traditional menstrual products (e.g., due to sensory sensitivities, mobility issues, or other medical conditions), you may be eligible to claim reusable period underwear as a necessary support.


Who Can Claim?

Self-Managed Participants – You can purchase first, then claim reimbursement through the NDIS myplace portal.
Plan-Managed Participants – Your plan manager may approve the expense and pay using NDIS funds.
NDIS-Agency Managed Participants – Unfortunately, Mira Comfort is not an NDIS-registered provider, so agency-managed plans cannot claim our products.

How to Claim Mira Comfort Period Underwear with NDIS

  1. Purchase your underwear from Mira Comfort.
  2. Save your invoice.
  3. Submit your claim:
    • Self-managed participants → Upload the invoice via the NDIS myplace portal.
    • Plan-managed participants → Send the invoice to your plan manager for approval.
  4. Receive reimbursement (if approved under your plan’s consumables budget).
